LOVE BIRDS (CineCenter)
“What Is Love” is sung by Haddaway in his song of the same name, released in 1993. But what is love? Asking a (in)famous AI tool, it can, depending on context, mean different things: Romantic love, familial love, friendship or self-love. Our film special LOVE BIRDS sets out to bring the wide spectrum of love to the screen. For this reason, we would like to invite you to join us on this journey to discover the diverse meanings of love.

STICKY FINGERS (CineCenter)
On May 11, 2003, one of Austria’s most spectacular art heists took place just across the Ring from the CineCenter: the theft of the Saliera. The thief had only 46 seconds to steal the golden salt dispenser. 7,973 days later, a special film event is set to begin at CineCenter: Sticky Fingers.
This FilmSPECIAL is dedicated to legendary heists, masterful con artists, and the unpredictable consequences of criminal plans. From clever tricksters to desperate small-time crooks, these films show that the perfect crime often only works in theory.

EVERYTHING BUT CARS (CineCenter)
After a summer full of adventure and travelling, we don’t want to let go of this feeling of freedom just yet. That’s why we’re showing a film series with a different kind of road movie at the CineCenter from 2 to 16 October. They often take place mostly inside a car travelling through an empty landscape. The journey usually serves the respective protagonists as a search for their own identity. In this film series, however, a central element of this formula has been omitted: the car. ‘Everything but cars’ shows five films in which the protagonist travels by alternative means of road movie transport.
In PORCO ROSSO, a pilot enchanted into a pig does not fly for the Italian Air Force, but earns his living as a bounty hunter and chases air pirates. In RUBBER, the audience watches a car tyre come to life, which quickly becomes a serial killer. In PREMIUM RUSH, New York bike courier Wilee has 90 minutes to deliver a secret parcel from Manhattan to Chinatown – not a difficult task, but he is being followed. Finally, in THE WARRIORS, the street gang of the same name tries to get back to Coney Island unharmed by underground through the territories of other gangs.

CAN’T YOU JUST SEE IT? (CineCenter)
The sun is shining, the first hot days are drawing everyone outside and the sweating begins – just in time for the 28th Rainbow Parade. To mark the occasion, we are bringing a little piece of Pride into our air-conditioned cinema halls and show queer ways of living on our screens.
The films tell of a forbidden love on a secluded island in Brittany that breaks with the social conventions of the time (PORTRAIT DE LA JEUNE FILLE EN FEU), of BDSM in the space between the virtual and physical worlds (REGRA 34) and of a letter that Paul B. Preciado writes to Virginia Woolf in which he tells her that her novel character has become real – The world is full of Orlandos today (ORLANDO, MY POLITICAL BIOGRAPHY). We accompany Feña, who has recently started taking testosterone, on his through New York and on a rollercoaster of emotions (MUTT). Finally, we join Molly and Amy in a film of the „teenagers hanging out all night“ genre (BOOKSMART), the perfect finale to end the Pride.
Don’t dream it, be it.
